Bepanthen for a tattoo; how and when do i use it?

I contacted my tattooist as i'm getting my first one soon and he said use bepanthen. which one? i looked on boots and there is ointments or other types which do i use? how much shud i buy? how/when do i use bepanthen on my tattoo? thanks
