I would suggest meeting with the tattoo artist before hand to discuss what you want the tattoo to be, where you want to put it on your body, and after care instructions. Either take notes or write it down as soon as you get home. When you get the tattoo, ask the artist again about the after care. Creams, lotions, triple antibiotic ointments will vary as some may have reactions with some ink. So be sure to ask the artist as he / she will know what is safe to use with the ink that they are using.
